AI Topical Cluster Brainstorming Tools (Make Google Listen)

As a webmaster, you know how important it is to rank well on Google. However, with ever-changing algorithms and ranking factors, it can be challenging to stay on top of your SEO game. Enter topical clusters – a powerful way to organize your content and boost your search engine rankings. In this article, we will explore how to use the AI tools below to create topical clusters of topics, article titles, outlines, and articles.

By the end of this article, you’ll have a better understanding of how to leverage topical clusters to build topical authority and improve your Google EEAT (Experience Expertise Authority and Trustworthiness).

The Tools We Will Be Using

The purpose of this first tool is to create a list of “high-level” topics for your website. You can also use it to find subtopics of the larger topics. The second tool will suggest articles that you can write with different search intents for the topics. The third tool will create outlines for the articles you want to create. The fourth tool will allow you to make an article from an outline.

Top Level Topics (or Subtopics) AI Generator

What is your website's subject
Who is your audience?
What is the purpose of your website?

If this tool times out please just hit submit again. Open.AI is sometimes overloaded.

Special Thanks to V. Michael Santoro at https://www.skool.com/chatgpt for inspiration for this tool. Do you have a tool suggestion? Send me a note, https://www.aidare.com/contact/

I would suggest taking one of the topics above and using it and this next tool if the topics are not overly broad. If they’re very broad you should take one of the topics and use the first tool again. That will allow you to narrow down the topic.

So how should you determine if your topic is narrow enough? If my starting subject was AI in business, and one of the topics was AI in finance, AI in finance would still be too broad as a topic. Why? AI in Finance is a huge field of study it’s not reasonable to think that you could cover a topic that broad with only 10 articles.

Once you have a narrow enough topic you should take it and put it into the next tool. This tool will help you to determine some articles that you can write for your topic.

Topical Article Titles AI Generator

The purpose of this calculator is to give you a list of article titles that you can then use to create an article outline in the 3rd tool.  Each of these article titles will suggest an article that has a different search intent for the topic.

What is the Topic?
Who is your audience?
What is the purpose of writing about this topic?

If this tool times out please just hit submit again. Open.AI is sometimes overloaded.

The tool above specifically tries to find related articles to your topic that have different search intents.

Search intent is simply the reason that someone is searching.

So the list above should give you a number of ideas for different articles to cover your topic. Keep in mind that Google gives you topical authority when you have around 10 articles written for a subject.

Article Outline AI Generator

Subject
Requested Subheading Content (Optional)
Who is Your Audience?
Purpose (Optional)
Article Length (Include the Number of Subheadings or Wordcount)

If this tool times out please just hit submit again. Open.AI is sometimes overloaded.

This outline generator will help you to craft the best content possible for your subject and audience according to your purpose. Be sure to fill in the optional sections if you have a good idea of what you want. If not you may need to run it a second time when you understand better what you need.

Creating An Article From An Outline

Once we have the outline we are ready to create a blog post. Since the output of ChatGPT is limited to about 550 words max in its responses we need to do this one section at a time. The tool below will help you with that (GPT Turbo 3.5). However, you may want to use a prompt on ChatGPT4 for better results. You can find a tutorial and prompt for using ChatGPT4 to write out that here.

Outline to Article AI Generator

(This tool only creates one section of an article at a time)

Warning: This will only create one section of an Article at a time.

Warning: GPT cannot count well so expect the minimum length of each section to be 300 words to a max of 550 words.

Using The Topical Content Tools

Follow along with the example below to see how to best use the topical content tools.

What Is a Topical Content Cluster?

Topical content clusters are groups of articles that cover different aspects of a topic. The content addresses the central topic from different search intents and provides in-depth information about each sub-topic.

Let’s Take a look at an example, if your website was about candy making that would be the central topic. Let’s suppose you are approaching the topic by covering decorative candy making.

We’ll use the first tool above to generate a list of subtopics.

Some of the subtopics you might cover are.

  1. Chocolate Making
    How to temper chocolate
    Different types of chocolate
    Chocolate decorations
    Chocolate truffles
  2. Sugar Work
    Pulled sugar
    Blown sugar
    Casting sugar
    Sugar flowers
  3. Cake Decorating
    Fondant
    Buttercream
    Icing techniques
    Cake toppers
  4. Candy Molds
    Types of molds
    Mold making

  5. Fudge and Caramels

Looking at Chocolate Making we can see that we have already been given a few articles that might support it.

How to temper chocolate
Different types of chocolate
Chocolate decorations
Chocolate truffles

We can run the second tool to get more as well.

So let’s pick one of the articles, “How to Color Chocolate for Candy Making” – This article would provide guidance on how to add color to chocolate, which is a key element in creating visually appealing chocolate candies.

We’ll take that and put it into the 3rd tool to create an outline for an article. Why an outline? ChatGPT only puts out about 300-550 words per response. If you want to create a 1,500-word article (the shortest I would suggest), you will need to run it several times.

Using an outline lets you break things into pieces and have each piece written separately.

How to Color Chocolate for Candy Making

1. Introduction

  • Brief explanation of how color can enhance the look of decorative chocolate
  • Importance of using proper coloring techniques
  • Overview of the article

8. Conclusion

How Google Uses Topical Authority To Determine EEAT

Google is Measuring Your Expertise In a Topic

Google uses topical authority as a way to determine EEAT or Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness of a website. Topical authority focuses on the subject matter of a website and how well it covers a particular topic.

Think about topical Authority as a measure of the quality and depth of a website’s content in a particular area. To determine topical authority, Google looks at a number of factors including the quality of the content, the number of quality backlinks pointing to the content, the author’s credentials, and the buzz around the content on social media.

Google also looks at the user experience of the website and how easy it is to navigate and find relevant information.

  • This means that using linking between pieces of topically related content is a must. You also should make it easy to navigate between different pieces of related content by creating categories or sub-categories.

Google’s algorithms look for patterns in the content such as keyword density, relevance, and quality of the information presented. They also analyze the structure of the content, including the use of subheadings, bullet points, and other formatting elements that make the content easier to read and understand.

Another important factor that Google looks at when determining topical authority is the quality of the backlinks pointing to the content. Backlinks are links from other websites that point to a particular piece of content. The more quality backlinks a piece of content has, the more likely it is to be considered authoritative by Google.

  • I do not suggest going after backlinks, create content that draws them to you.

Google also considers the author’s credentials and expertise in the subject matter.  If the author has a demonstrated history of expertise in the subject matter, they are more likely to be considered an authority by Google. Overall, topical authority is an important factor that Google uses to determine EEAT.

  • Do things that increase your authority, write a short book and put it up for sale on Amazon, write a research paper on the subject, get links from HARO (help a reporter out) quoting you as a source with a link to your website, etc…

By focusing on the quality and depth of content in a particular area, Google is able to identify websites and content that are truly authoritative and trustworthy. This helps to ensure that users are provided with accurate, reliable, and high-quality information when they use Google to search for information.

Abstract of Links Between Different Articles in a Content Cluster
  1. Identify the related articles: Start by identifying how the articles in the topic cluster are related to each other. These could be articles with similar search intent or articles that cover different aspects of the same topic. Imagine links in the articles before you write them that would be helpful to the readers.

2. Use internal linking: Internal linking is the process of linking one page on your website to another page on the same website. This is a great way to create links between related articles.

3. Use anchor text: Anchor text is the visible text that is used to create a hyperlink. When creating links between related articles, use anchor text that is relevant to the content of the linked article. This will help both readers and search engines understand the context of the link.

4. Add links to old articles: As you create new content, go back and add links to related articles that you have published in the past. This will help to keep your old content relevant and improve the overall user experience on your website.

5. Use external linking: External linking is the process of linking to other websites from your own website. You can use external linking to link to authoritative sources that provide additional information on the topic of your article. This can help to improve the credibility of your content and provide additional value to your readers. I suggest that you have these open in a new tab.

6. Use a sitemap: A sitemap is a file that lists all of the pages on your website. Including links to related articles on your sitemap can help search engines understand the structure of your website and improve the visibility of your content in search results. Orphaned posts or pages usually do not do well on Google.

One way to develop topical authority is by creating topical clusters. A topical cluster is a group of related articles, blog posts, or web pages that are linked together by a common topic or theme. One of the key benefits of using AI tools to create topical clusters is that they can help you identify gaps in your content. By analyzing your existing content, these tools can identify topics that you haven’t covered yet and help you develop a content strategy to fill those gaps. This can help you create more comprehensive content and establish your website as an authority in your niche.

In addition to creating topical clusters, it’s also important to optimize your content for search engines.

This includes using relevant keywords, creating high-quality content, and optimizing your website’s internal linking structure. By using AI tools to create topical clusters and optimizing your content for search engines, you can improve your website’s EEAT and establish yourself as an authority in your niche.

Overall, topical clusters and topical authority are important components of EEAT and can significantly impact your website’s search engine ranking. By using AI tools to create topical clusters, webmasters can establish their website’s topical authority and improve their EEAT. So if you’re a webmaster looking to improve your website’s search engine ranking, consider using AI tools to create topical clusters and establish your website’s topical authority.

Conclusions

In conclusion, topical clusters are an essential component of building topical authority for your website.
